On March 22 legendary entertainer Pat Boone hosted a reception at his home in Beverly Hills in honor of Dr. Robert Stearns, Mr. Ron Plotkin and Drs. Frederick and Betty Price to raise support for the
Israel Experience College Scholarship and upcoming
May 19 Jerusalem Banquet.
The event included special guests such as Consul General of Israel Jacob Dayan, Deputy Consul General Gil Artzyeli, Consul for Tourism Eliezer Hod, Dr. and Mrs. Morris Cerullo, Bishop and Mrs. Charles Blake, presiding Bishop of the worldwide COGIC denomination, Rabbi Yitzchok Adlerstein from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Pepperdine University Vice-Chairman Michael Warder, Rabbi Kalman Topp of Temple Beth Jacob in Beverly Hills, Catherine Schneider Sr. Vice President of the LA Jewish Federation, actor John Savage, and others.
“It is not enough for the Jewish students alone to defend Israel on the campus. Anti Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment are rising and we must develop educated, articulate, ambassadors for Israel who understand the facts and can stand up for Israel against this growing tide”
Dr. Robert Stearns, director of Eagles’ Wings and the Israel Experience College Scholarship told the crowd of 90 gathered at Pat Boone’s home.
“Robert, what you are doing is so important” said Consul General Jacob Dayan, “we need you to continue to train non-Jewish advocates for Israel who can speak out and tell the truth about Israel on the campus and in life.”
Each year the
Jerusalem Banquet empowers the vital work of the
Israel Experience College Scholarship Program through funding the scholarships through sponsorship and attendance at the event. The Jerusalem Banquet is a unique gathering of premier
leadership from both the Jewish and the Christian communities, bringing them together for relationship and dialogue through the various events associated with the banquet.
The Jerusalem Banquet 2011 will take place on
May 19 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The 2011 Banquet honorees are
Mr. Ron Plotkin, philanthropist and successful business entrepreneur, and
Drs. Frederick and Betty Price, founders of Crenshaw Christian Center and a church network of 400 churches across America.
